Archiving and Preservation Policy

Milky Way Scientific Journal (MWSJ) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published scholarly content.

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and maintains regular secure backups of published articles, metadata, editorial records, and journal files.

All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref to ensure persistent identification, citation linking, and long-term discoverability.

MWSJ supports long-term preservation through OJS-based LOCKSS and CLOCKSS preservation mechanisms. The journal has enabled LOCKSS and CLOCKSS support in OJS, allowing participating libraries and preservation networks to access the journal’s publisher manifest and preserve published content. MWSJ also maintains secure backups of published articles, metadata, editorial records, and journal files.

In the event that the journal website becomes unavailable, published content will remain identifiable through Crossref DOI records and preserved backup copies maintained by the publisher.
