Archiving and Preservation Policy

Milky Way Scientific Journal (MWSJ) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published scholarly content.

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and maintains regular secure backups of published articles, metadata, editorial records, and journal files.

All published articles are assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref to ensure persistent identification, citation linking, and long-term discoverability.

MWSJ participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed archiving service operated by the Public Knowledge Project at Simon Fraser University. All published issues are deposited to the network for long-term preservation, and the journal's archiving status is recorded in the ISSN Keepers Portal. The journal has also applied to the LOCKSS Global Network; that application is currently pending. MWSJ additionally maintains secure backups of published articles, metadata, editorial records, and journal files.

In the event that the journal website becomes unavailable, published content will remain identifiable through Crossref DOI records and preserved backup copies maintained by the publisher.
